Stromovka, Prague | Date Unknown

When: Unknown

From: Stromovka Park, Prague, Czech Republic

To: NA

Found: Prague, Czech Republic

Text: “Greetings from the main restaurant in Stromovka!”

Note: This postcard, although old, did not have any writing on it unfortunately. It is from a beautiful park in Prague called Stromovka, named after the multitude of trees (strom = tree). There is infrastructure and a beautiful old fairgrounds with some murals from Mucha from a world exposition in the early 1900’s. I found this postcard just after seeing this chateau for the first time. What stuck out to me is that, even though the chateau is still there and there is still a “restaurant” there, the chateau is in disrepair and the restaurant is a sausage and beer stand. It was just cool to me to see what this beautiful building looked like in it heyday.

Prague Charles Bridge, Czechoslovakia | circa 1952?

When: ca. 1952? I can’t quite read it

From: Prague, Czechoslovakia
To: Podgora, Yugoslavia
Found: Prague, Czech Republic
Text: I did not translate this card before sending it off and can’t read it from the picture.
Note: Prague has a special place in my heart. I lived there for awhile and it’s views never ceased to amaze me. I included a recent picture I took of Charles Bridge. Not much has changed.
I am not a native Czech speaker, so if you can read the text and can translate it, let me know.
